Is A Trust A Good Idea?

AFTER reading Billo's enlightening words about The Grimsby Town Supporters Trust, I still need to be convinced about the idea. After all, for this to succeed, the people who are in the steering group need to know how much work is involved.
Personal opinions should never overlook the purpose of a Trust. I know from its inception that the people involved have the club at heart, but have they got the skills needed to run hopefully, a successful venture like this. It's OK taking advice from Supporters Direct, but every clubs problem is different so you can't compare clubs when Trusts are being formed, in terms of involvement by committee members.
I've had a look at the GTST website but after reading their aims, I wonder if any of these are either practical or easy to accomplish with Grimsby Town Football Club. It's OK having theses aims but will it happen? The last few times that there has been a Phone-In on the radio and the callers mentioned the Trust, the chairman has mentioned ways the Trust can start to help the club and that has probably been to see if the Trust are serious in their intentions.
But will the Trust take advantage of this advice or will they have their own ideas on how to go about things because, whether the Trust like it or not, in the end the football club have the advantage, and like all things in life, if you want to get things done there's a price to pay whether they like it or not. Now the board has changed, I wonder if the directors are willing to work in harmony with the Trust, or whether the Trust have their own hidden agenda how they want things done.
I've read everybody's opinions over the last few months on the Fishy's message board, but is it is wise for people on the steering group to use this means of communication as this will always lead to people getting the wrong ideas about what the Trust is all about and they all should have the same ideas on how the Trust should go forward.
In the end the Trust has still to be formed and, from what Billo said, that will happen in the next few months, but they ought to remember that for the Trust to succeed, it's not just the fans that need to get involved, the steering committee needs experienced people amongst its ranks to be successful in its aims.
So we'll see how serious the Trust is, when the Club via the say so of its shareholders release the Share issue, and see if they are willing to buy the shares to make any difference. Another matter they need to consider is having a member of the trust on the board of Grimsby Town, and raising the cash needed to fulfil that aim, and whether they have a member on the committee with the right expertise to serve as a director.
