Jon Who? Why?

THE decision by Russell Slade to bring in Jon Daly on loan seems a little strange. Although Daly has been a very good trainee by all accounts, he is very short in first team experience.
He was rumoured to be set for a move north of the border to Aberdeen but Sammy McIlroy said; "Jon is definitely part and parcel of my plans at Stockport and he certainly hasn't asked for a move elsewhere." Which demonstrates McIlroy's confidence in him.
But Daly was let out on loan to Bury and his latest loan to the Mariners is seen as a move to gain further first team experience as he has not featured too often in the line up this season.
Whether he is better than Town have, will have to be seen, but Slade now has a choice of chooosing a young inexperienced player in Daly or an older more experienced hand in Cramb, who has not yet been a regular feature in the Mariners lineup.
A strange coincidence that Cramb too was rumoured to chased by Aberdeen.
If Slade decides to play both Daly and Cramb then it would require a major shakeup in the forward line and one wonders if Slade would be prepared to take that risk against Chester, who are having an unbeaten run at home themselves.
But there again, the front line have produced very little recently and maybe the time has come for a change. If there are no major changes, of the two, I think I would prefer Cramb to Daly simply based on his expereience. We have a player of our own on loan who is doing quite well and bringing him back might be a better option than signing someone elses non combatants.
We will have to wait for today's game to see which way the ball bounces, but Chester are no pushovers and whoever plays, will have to be ready for a hard fought game.
