Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

January Player of the Month

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 07/02/2005

THANKS to all the votes this month which, as far as I know, has been a record-breaking period for nominations since the conception of this feature on the site.

Home > 2004-2005 Season > Player of the Month > January

So here are the six nominations for January:

Michael Reddy
Michael Reddy Michael has been showing this month what we knew he was capable of before the career-threatening injury which slowed down his Town career when we first signed him in the summer. If the gaffer continues with 4-4-2 this will bring the best out of the Irishman. Michael Reddy Profile
Simon Ramsden
Simon Ramsden Being played in what’s not his best position might not help Simon out in the long run, but he’s having to fill in because of suspensions and injuries. When Ramsden plays in the centre half berth he looks one of the classiest players at the club. Simon Ramsden Profile
Terry Fleming
Terry Fleming Russell Slade has said in a previous press interview that Terry’s name is first on the team sheet if fit and the way the former Cambridge midfielder has played over the season you can see why. Fleming looks more the part if he has the right player playing alongside him in midfield. Terry Fleming Profile
Thomas Pinault
Thomas Pinault Due to the way other teams play in League Two, Pinault has had to spend a lot of time on the subs bench and when he’s been there Town have missed his midfield prowess - this is shown by where we are in the league table. Thomas Pinault Profile
Rob Jones
Rob Jones Has looked out of place since his introduction into Town’s first team squad. His lanky physique can help Town defend better when we play a direct-thinking team, where his 6'7" frame comes into its own. Rob Jones Profile
Martin Gritton
Martin Gritton After being bombed out of Plainmoor Gritton was signed by Russell Slade to fit the missing jigsaw puzzle piece to the squad we have. Gritts looks like a typical English centre forward and he will score shed loads of goals in this league. Martin Gritton Profile

So here are the 6 nominations for January and remember you can pick the overall winner by voting when these appear on Question of the Week
