RUSSELL Slade, although disappointed, is not downhearted by the loss of two players he had targeted with both players opting to stay with their current club.
Slade was trying to sign goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan and defender Kevin Sandwith - but the Grimsby Telegraph reports today that both deals fell through.
Sandwith had talks with Mariners chiefs this week - but has decided against a move and he and former Town player Matt Bloomer, have both agreed new contracts at Sincil Bank. Sandwith is set to sign a two-year deal, while Bloomer has agreed a one-year contract.
But Russell Slade still has number of players on his list and will continue his efforts to build the team before the commencement of the season.
