Andy Parkinson has not yet been offered a new contract at Grimsby Town and as his future looks uncertain he is looking at returning to his native north-west.
He is out of contract at the end of the season but says he wants to stay at Grimsby if they are prepared to make him an offer.
"I'd be keen to stay at Grimsby because I think the club is moving forward but no-one has said anything to me about a new contract.
"It's nearly the end of the season and I've heard nothing, so I need to start thinking about next season.
"I've got a young family to look after and I need to get a contract somewhere, so I might end up going back to a club closer to Liverpool."
