Looking at that, I'm delighted that I decided not to bother and will continue to do so until a) the Rob Scott situation is explained AND resolved. B) positive home selections are picked to entertain the people who part with hard earned money, not 4-5-1 with the one striker who can't score.

Can't see much from this line up that is exciting, no Hannah or Cook and there are now 3 rumours doing the rounds regarding Scott.

Hearn on the bench understandable with his injury but what does Hannah have to do to get a start? Really hope he gets a decent run out at some stage.

Be interested to hear from the just back threads as that sounded half decent. Solid defending and lively in midfield. Doesn't sound like we're missing Thomas or Disley at all.

Decent first half, Neilson playing well and looks a lot fitter, some poor referee decisions, i can see us winning this game comfortably tbh.

Shame they didn't continue into the 2nd half as they did in the first. We still seem short on ideas, and strangely sounded less threatening with Cook on that with LJL.

I feel bit sorry for Ross Hannah, whenever he gets a chance he bangs it in the net, but he's never got a consistent run since he signed permanently.

Because he offers literally nothing else than being a good finisher and with one striker we need more than that.

Yes indeed. We played really well for 30 minutes and scored a very good goal. The first half faded out a bit and the second half we never got going. As the game wore on, Braintree got stronger and stronger. We couldn't have complained if they'd got a deserved equalizer. Why do these part time sides seem to be fitter and faster at the tail end of games? This seems to happen far too often for my liking and I don't get why this should be? Rodman, Nielson and LJL were excellent with The Shop getting my MOM award. Still hate this 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 as it more often turns out to be. And what was the pissing about playing for time in the corner about when there was 4 minutes of time to be played? That's just stupid when we had a chance to get the ball in the box and finish the game. Disappointingly defensive attitude prevails and I'm not as happy as I should be with 3 points. Not convinced!!!!!

Yep, just about spot on but i think McDonald was MOM in the second half, or man of the 45 mins if you like.

Heard that too. An accumulation of incidents which have not gone down well and one that was the final straw. I'm sure we'll find out in due course.

Yeah, you're probably right with that, but a centre half getting mo45 mins at home against part time opposition? Not bloody good enough!

Seriously? Where you at the game? Did you not witness the other corners we had during the previous 90 mins? We never threatened from a single one, with injury time only left then running down the clock in the area furthest away from our goal is the sensible, professional and only option. We secured a victory, showed much more attacking intent for the first 45 mins and never really looked that threatened at any point.

Don't agree with keeping it in the corner myself it rarely ever works and results in a free kick the other way fairly quickly, which would give the opposition a chance to lump it forward anyway.

I agree, with 30 seconds left maybe do it, but we were never going to hold it there for 5mins +

I thought we looked decent today. We played some good football at times.
Neilson looked fitter and showed desire to go forward and defend. Midfield three wanted to pass, they wanted the ball and looked to tr and win the 2nd ball. Kerr was very good at talking and organising especially from throws etc.
The shop linked up very well, good passing and vision. He won so man headers and got a goal, very happy with his performance.
Defence, Pearson looked to bring the ball out more, far fewer pointless hoofs. MacDonald looked ok especially as the game grew.
We suffered when our full back went off injured as he was stead and reassuring.
Room for improvement but this was much better today.
I would prefer 4-4-2 as we have 3 goal scorers on the bench. It would enable full backs to overlap and deeper crosses from wingers. Just my opinion though

The one thing that stands out from the commentary and the just back threads is how much much better we are going forward with Neilson in the team, even at 75% fitness or whatever.

Him and Rodman can both regularly go past a defender, which Coulbeck and previous wingers can't/couldn't. Puts defenders on the back foot

I was hugely impressed with John-Lewis in the Luton game, he seems capable of controlling any ball from any angle/height with pretty much any part of his body, very often killing the ball dead, twisting and....nothing on. Maybe it's the whole 4-3-3/lone striker-work-in-progress thing and certain players are now coming to figure in it more but a team with Rodman and Neilson on the flanks should surely bombard the opposition with overlaps culminating from LJL's hold up play. We have potentially the most exciting squad in the division but end up scraping 1-0 home wins in games in games that should be wrapped up long before the final whistle.

I think Lewis deserves his place in the side,
BUT
We would be a much more dangerous if he could lay the ball off to Hearn or Hannah
