We were poor today yes, but I think that had McKeown not had a Colgan moment and Neilson not been sent off, they probably wouldn't have scored - their goals came because we had 9 men and the first one was obvioulsy McKeown's member up.

All if's and buts Tom but the bottom line is we haven't been ruthless enough and that has cost us!

Why an earth neilson high fived hatton is beyond me if it was me id would ripped him a new anus

Probably because they are team mates and stand by each other.....Hurst has an excuse for 45 mins of this tie.......we were never consistent enough to win the league which is what you have to do to guarantee to get out of this league and for the second time we were not good enough over two legs of a two legged tie.
First tie although dominant we did not create enough goalscoring opportunities, that has cost us more than anything. Neilson was unlucky, Hurst cannot be blamed for that but at least that brought some fight out in us which Hurst could not inspire, Hatton was stupid, Hurst cannot be blamed for that either really.
We wasted the first 45 mins today by sitting off, Mckeown fvcked up, Hurst cannot be blamed for that.

Without the sendings off who knows as they didnt particularly threaten with the tip tappy football they had and we may have ultimately succeeded.

We have the summer merry go round to look forward to now, new squad, new manager (probably, by xmas at least).

A fan within our team or do you think hes a genuinely good right back because I just don't see how you can think that, even when he's good hes never great, Bignot not great either but when hatton lost his place and bignot first came in don't think there was any qualities hatton brought that we missed. He's too slow and often his balls forward are too high and slow so he ends up giving it away alot. Really his main flaw is telegraphing his passes.

There has been to many players in our team who can have 1 good game but then very average for the next 3 or 4 games and that has cost us!  Lack of consistency and not ruthless enough in the final third, out of interest who is our top scoring striker?  There lies part of our problem!

I agree we haven't been ruthless enough, but the scoreline definitely flatters them because they didn't actually have any chances before Neilson was sent off.

For me the only striker we've got that's worth keeping is Tounkara and he's not even our player; I'd keep all the centre backs, Thomas, Rodman, McKeown, Neilson, Kerr, Thanoj, McLaughlin, and Disley. But this is totally dependent on who's in charge and who they want to keep for a potential change of system.

In my opinion I would keep Hurst because there's not really anyone realistically we can get with a much better record than Hurst - the cup success this year shouldn't be forgotten for example, there aren't many non-league teams who get to the 3rd round of the FA Cup, and we were so close to beating Huddersfield. We have been incredibly frustrating this year, but be careful what you wish for - if we get someone in like Burr to play passing football, people will move from moaning about boring football to moaning about trying to walk it into the net like we had under Buckley. The grass isn't always necessarily greener on the other side!

Yeah, i do think he's a decent right back at this level, but it doesn't matter now. He won't be here next season.

Surprised to see all the blame being thrown around and McKeown escaping it. I thought he was poor in the first leg, he basically had 3 things to do all night yet didn't move for the goal, mis-controlled a back pass and whacked it into touch then rushed off his line like an idiot but got away with it (that time). Maybe it's the constant stream of rubbish we've had between the sticks that makes us think he's world class but I do wonder just how much better than Hedge he is, especially of late.

Soft goal conceded started the rot, ridiculous red card, stupid challenge/red card, wonder goal and finally a roll into an empty net to take the p**s. Never a dull moment in Town games.
