I agree we haven't been ruthless enough, but the scoreline definitely flatters them because they didn't actually have any chances before Neilson was sent off.

For me the only striker we've got that's worth keeping is Tounkara and he's not even our player; I'd keep all the centre backs, Thomas, Rodman, McKeown, Neilson, Kerr, Thanoj, McLaughlin, and Disley. But this is totally dependent on who's in charge and who they want to keep for a potential change of system.

In my opinion I would keep Hurst because there's not really anyone realistically we can get with a much better record than Hurst - the cup success this year shouldn't be forgotten for example, there aren't many non-league teams who get to the 3rd round of the FA Cup, and we were so close to beating Huddersfield. We have been incredibly frustrating this year, but be careful what you wish for - if we get someone in like Burr to play passing football, people will move from moaning about boring football to moaning about trying to walk it into the net like we had under Buckley. The grass isn't always necessarily greener on the other side!

But it happens all too often Tom. If's and But's and what might have been. We lost that tie on Thursday, with our inability to score when we were on top. Teams seem to score against us from very few chances. Every shot flies in yet we never hit shots like that. Our strikers are rubbish, no getting away from that and Hurst signed them and coaches them.

Surprised to see all the blame being thrown around and McKeown escaping it. I thought he was poor in the first leg, he basically had 3 things to do all night yet didn't move for the goal, mis-controlled a back pass and whacked it into touch then rushed off his line like an idiot but got away with it (that time). Maybe it's the constant stream of rubbish we've had between the sticks that makes us think he's world class but I do wonder just how much better than Hedge he is, especially of late.

Soft goal conceded started the rot, ridiculous red card, stupid challenge/red card, wonder goal and finally a roll into an empty net to take the p**s. Never a dull moment in Town games.

Yeah what a excrement double save in the second half!

Now based in reading, do I class as an exile yet?

Fantastic saves but he also dropped a very soft cross prior to it. He was poor over the two legs for me.

McKeown despite his blunder has been the best keeper I have seen at BP for a long time.

A good keeper, but needs to command his area more for me, but will be gone now so doesn't matter really

I agree with you  there Robocod, I would like to see Hedge have a few starts next season,it might keep Macca on his toes.. Mckeown is a good shotstopper but his overall keeping leaves something to be desired, not commanding in the box enough for me and his distribution is sometimes lacking. I was very impressed with Hedge in pre season matches.

I agree we didn't make the most of the chances we've had this season to make it much easier for ourselves, but I don't think sacking Hurst would get us anywhere. We'd just be left with Dave Moore/Chris Doig in charge until we can get our 7th choice in in early August - who would want to come here that we would actually want? We aren't going to be paying much in compensation, and there's no-one I can think of off the top of my head who is available that is any better. We'd just be stuck with one of the usual suspects like Gary Brabin or Paul Buckle who get suggested everytime a manager gets sacked at this level.

Justin edinburgh seems to know what we need after 45, whys it taken hurst a season
Just frustrated, i know were still in it

You are so right. Having been to this match and watching the recording - Justin Edinburgh said at half time all of the things, which I have stated recently on these threads, need addressing, at half time. He would have taken half time action to address the problems. Funnily enough, like a dying hamster, PH may have been right to let things continue - but then the referee intervened to make sure that the hamster wouldn't live.
