Oh dear. Cue the excuses

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

i can't see it happening, but i think a right b*llocking and a reminder of the length of their contracts might do the trick at half time. If you want to get out of this league you HAVE to beat the likes of Dover (no offence) if you want to stand a cat in hell's chance. I like Paul but he needs to get them scoring

i can't see it happening, but i think a right b*llocking and a reminder of the length of their contracts might do the trick at half time. If you want to get out of this league you HAVE to beat the likes of Dover (no offence) if you want to stand a cat in hell's chance. I like Paul but he needs to get them scoring
Only thing is with Paul he is not the passionate type. Strikes me as being unassuming and quiet

So 3 games into the season, people are starting to realise that we aren't actually any good. Classic example of people having short memories after the shite we were served up last season was very quickly forgotten in pre-season.

so far my decision not to bother going today is paying off....i am afraid to say. Dull as dishwater.

I really hope Hurst's decision on team selection and formation wasnt based on matching the free scoring Dover's set up.

Got home from my Hols at 1pm. Could easily have made the game and once upon a time i would have been there no question, but i just couldn't be arsed. Hurst is a boring manager with a boring approach and i'm glad i didn't bother. He succeeded in boring my Town enthusiasm out of me last season and is doing nothing to get it back so far. Think i'll keep my money in my pocket for now.

i think Paul has the knowledge and the desire to do it, ie get them scoring...but i just dont know how he will go about it or even if he will  actually manage it.....if he does, if we get momentum then all of a sudden will he be great? the team and the manager has great potential methinks, I would just like it all to start tonight

This, even to the point I also got back from being away today and realised it wasn't worth adding to my depressed state.

Hurst never changes things quickly enough and never ever makes a substitution at half time. Makreth on and a defender off is the way to go surely?

Agreed, make a sub after a period of pressure, Town can never sustain more than 10 minutes of pressure and it falls away again. Need JackMack on to run his legs off.

when  i saw Mackreth in pre season he looked ace, really ran at defenders and beat most of them, him one side and Neillson on the other, Pittman in the middle, that would look handy, when does Scott come back from suspension?

On paper we must have the best team we've had for years

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Blimey, 250 minutes and we manage to score from a deflection

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

In other news, Town have a slice of luck.

At last a goal , now let's do what we have been doing best, hold out with some solid defending. C'mon town hold on this could give the club a timely boost for sure.
Jumped out my chair when flashscores announced it, slipped on the bloody laminate and fell over and cracked my elbow lol a small sacrifice for a goal.

Same as happened too many times last season. When we score we can't keep a clean sheet. When we keep a clean sheet we don't score. Too many draws as per usual.

One game closer to getting rid of one of our worst ever managers!   You see, that's why you shouldn't play so defensively. Doesn't matter if they're the best in the World, one little mistake is all it needs, and being human someone is going to make one.

Not good is it? Seems pretty much the same as last year so far. Hurst is just not astute enough to build a good side with one of the best budgets in the league. We are solid is about the best i can muster. Can't see me rushing back to BP any time soon, which is a pity because i've been a loyal supporter for over 40 years.

Now come on all you moaners, be fair. We knew it was going to be a tough game because PH told us it would be. No doubt he pressed home this message to the players in no uncertain terms, emphasising to LJL that the main job of a striker is to be the first line of defence.

After all Dover had only conceded 4 goals in their first 2 games. This was always going to be a tight match where one goal would prove indecisive. Fortunately for us our manager has tactical nous and selected a 5 man defence all of whom are capable of running 100m in 3 weeks. It was just unfortunate that we scored and this gave Dover new heart to come at us.

Oh I am sorry I wasn't there to see our gallant lads battle their way to a point against the Mighty Dover.

“If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.”
― John Stuart Mill, On Liberty."

This place is going to be interesting tonight. Despite injuries etc I have to say the current situation is pretty poor and I've said for a long time, Hurst isn't the man for me. Don't think for a minute he'll go but things have to drastically change. He needs to stop being so bloody stubborn and take his finger out of his bottom, sharpish.

To be fair, we had a pretty bad pre-season too....

Your right , we were told that Hurst was trying out different systems . That didn't work either . Really don't know where we go from here , however with Gateshead on the near horizon thing will get clearer I hope , one way or another .

So if it wasn't for Macca we would have lost at home to Dover,

I give up.

Ha ha ha! Like this one! :>)
My God, PH is the most boring manager we've had in my lifetime if not quite the worst!

He's not going to do that though is he mate?   On the bright side, I've saved myself at least £36 already this season!

Coming back from the game the formation was the right one to use but Paddy should been in the centre for Clay so he can make runs into the box and link up with the forwards with Winfarrah at wing back. Another thing no player hits a shot from outside the box which is annoying. The midfield looked very lethargic in the first half.

Just so annoying lower teams coming here and getting points of us aimless balls into the box again not enough passing no width with Paddy at wing back, Lenny hit the post, was unlucky when he headed it round the keeper, Pittman looked decent put himself about should have scored. Scottie Brown is a good signing for us keeps us ticking over.

What annoyed me was he was just about to bring on Mackreth and we scored sat him back down and tried to hold them out which was a wrong decision he should off took Clay off brought on Mackreth after we scored and jack would of had more space to run in behind them, but no he brought him 3 mins to go.

A real big test against Gateshead with Maddison and Rodman and co, hopefully get a few players back like Nielson but at this rate their gonna hammer us with this team where putting out the last couple of weeks.
