Come on Town let's make the Cheltenham result a minor blip and go on a run again.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I like the starting 11 a lot.  find it strange we have 2 full backs on the bench along with a cb... but hey ho it's the 11 on the pitch that matters. utm.

5 x's and im intrigued why. If we are chasing the game, the only attacking option we have is a kid on loan who hasnt played with us!! Win lose or draw, think its foolish to not have a winger on the bench

We are starting with 3 wingers though and have 2 full backs that can comfortably play further forward.

On my computer Humberside seem to be broadcasting the radio Cumbria commentary.

Tondeur's Twitter earlier said he wouldn't be at Barrow

Didn't realise that meant Humberside wouldn't be sending anyone from Grimsby at all!

Matt Dean is busy working for Look North now so who would that leave? Mike White or Burnsy? I'd stop paying my TV licence if they let Gwillam Lloyd loose on Town commentary.

Maybe you got the X's for slating Hurst for not having Mackreth on the bench. Ever thought Mackreth (and others) may be injured and therefore not PH's prefered bench ?

urine poor effort to not send anyone. New broom at Humberside with Matt Dean going to look north, obviously not bothered about town.

I was thinking the same.  I can think of several occasions this season where Hurst has been slated on here for not playing various players and its turned out there have been perfectly good reasons ranging from injuries to personal issues.  Maybe we should draw breath before slagging him off at every opportunity.

Teams to play in all 5 top divisions.

Us, Luton. Oxford, and Carlisle off the top of my head.

You could argue for Wimbledon too I suppose but you've got 3 different teams in there.

Commentary's excellent. Could almost be neutral.

I've no idea what's going, still no description of the goal and not really describing any of the play. Shite

Rather give him a good thrashing on the centre spot with a beech branch ala Faulty Towers,

Thinking about it Wimbledon have played in all 5 Divisions as they game up from what was then "The Gola League" I think in the late 70's and made it all the way to the top division.

Think they mean in recent years where the teams have been relegated to the 5th tier and or promoted back in to the top four divisions

The old Wimbledon must have been elected in place of some other team as the current format was only introduced in 1987

Back to Humberside for half-time, maybe we will get an explanation why they haven't bothered doing a commentary.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I'm not bothered about the lack of a JT commentary as I find him too negative and lacking enthusiasm. I understand that he tries to remain neutral but I feel he takes it too far, however I do love John Moores commentaries. UTM

I stand corrected. That rules them out then. I thought the top non-league Division had been national since the early 70's, obviously not.

1979 according to Wiki, but automatic promotion only came in in 1987.

Personally, I'd say Wimbledon is right anyway! (AFCW were given the cup by MKD, same club, morally anyway)

Got to see this one through............ 3 points a must!

Listening to the summariser on the commentary keeps referring to a Kook???  Also Ashley Grimes? any relation to the curly hared fella who used to play for Man U I wonder?

Also sounds like Mr Hicks had another excrement performance in Barrow's game at Guisley on Saturday.....very card happy!

Toto for Arnold?  I hope PH hasn't got Parslow on the bench...

Jones for Marshall makes sense though.

I'd guess East pushes on, Toto at RB, still 4-4-2 but more height for the aerial assault to follow!

I hope not we can't lose another striker!

So glad we've got Amond. He's so good.

Incidentally, Ross Hannah has scored 2 for Chester tonight.

Massive credit to those Town fans, many of whom have gone coast to coast. Superb support.
Great effort all round by players and fans.

My £10 on Podge at 25/1 to be top goalscorer not looking too bad a bet again. A shame FA Cup goals don't count.

Short shrift tonight by RH

No post match comments from either the manager / players or the fans

Appreciate Barrow is off the beaten track so using Radio Cumbria for commentary but there's still local input to consider post match

Hey ho...let's shout out how pleased we are on here instead

Not having a go but Podge did something that Omar hasn't got in his locker YET!

Full credit to PH for signing him, use him properly and he is the scorer we needed and his work rate is also better than Omar's.

Some of the comments when we went 1-0 down were priceless.

Maybe, just maybe some fans will start to realise that games last 90 minutes.

I won't hold my breath though.

Shame that some can't wait to hurl abuse at PH. The early posters that did this should be ashamed and learn a lesson in decency.

Full credit to PH for signing him, use him properly and he is the scorer we needed and his work rate is also better than Omar's.
Well I don't see the reason to compare, Omar is still young and the chances are he will get better and better.

Maybe if we play the ball on the deck more instead of lumping it down the channels half the time then he might even score more goals than the 10 league goals Omar has already contributed to our club already this season.

Fair point Les must admit I got a bit panicky when we went 1 - 0.

I had a go when we went 1 down not through panic but more through frustration and the will for us to win. I hate it when we lose and it pisses me off at work all week and on my days off and feel sorry for the partner when we lose lol but well done town good win lets get another run togther with a few more wins in it UTM

Two strikers out, tricky conditions, long trip....three points.....job more than done i would say. Jones sounded like he had something n his brief mentions on his brief cameo.

Back this up by smashing Welling on Saturday hopefully.

I noticed a couple of posters on this thread that was giving it grief when we went one down and even when we equalised.  They didn't post again to praise our team for a good performance in the second half, lets be honest, in terrible windy conditions. Well done town on a good result against a team that had only lost one game at home this season. Bring on Welling, let's have another three points on Saturday.

What a great result. From 0-1 down again. Away. At Barrow.  How may times have we come back from a goal deficit this season.?

And. 33 pages on a non league match thread. You gotta love Fishy posters. Feck knows how long these threads will get if we ever get to play some league opposition.

I love the Fishy. Especially on nights like tonight.  You've got the Hurst ins, the Hurst outs. The holier than thous. The total doom mongers. It's ace.

I listened to the commentary and I must say they were not biased to Barrow far from it and it sounded like Gowling and Townsend played a blinder really, full marks to the team and the fans - we heard you!- and Podge for bagging another brace - whats that 12 league and 2 cup goals - with OB with 10 - things looking good right now! UTM

My £10 on Podge at 25/1 to be top goalscorer not looking too bad a bet again. A shame FA Cup goals don't count.

FFS...........0 down away to Barrow and by the sounds of it playing average to shite.

How the intercourse can we concede direct from a corner?

Talented players average manager - Another year in this league!

Obviously not so talented players if they can't defend a corner!!

Best one was the Town fans ringing out "1-0 and you phucked it up, 1-0 and you phucked it up" just before the end. Priceless.
