Wing backand with 3 centre mids and 2 strikers. I would think Davies is more likely to play in the middle than mills though

To be honest, I think this is more of a tactical reaction to the team we're playing as opposed to not knowing our best formation etc

well...bold if nothing else....going to one of the best teams we have seen and fiddling with the formation....he did hint in his last interview that he likes 2 to up top and three in the middle...so 3-5-2 may be in his long term thinking.

Bignot says we're not creative enough, then leaves Vose out???

After a poor performance just 48 hours ago it would seem a good idea to change things. Delighted Dis is playing and hopefully with an extra player in the middle of the park we'll hold on to the ball a bit more today.

I'm a bit fearful tbh. Not a lot of pace in that team at all and Andrew Boyce scares the c rap out of me any time he's near the ball in our half..

Seems to me, as others have said, it's a formation picked considering today's opposition and perhaps that's it' our second match in 3 days. Plenty of attacking options on the bench for when the game may become more open in the second half. Think positive people! Plus, with all those attacking options MB has already shown he's not afraid of making early subs.

Well, shoot me down when it all goes wrong, but I like the idea of 3-5-2 and that MB looks like he wants us to be solid, which will be very important at a difficult place like Carlisle

Adi with the last minute winner then

Id be content with that team, just tugboat Boyce who concerns me -hopefully he got his head down like Pearson and gotten himself firing though.

Good to see manager being brave and utilising different formations to see what his inherited squad fits best. It could blow up in his face or could unearth a new mazterplan -look at Chelsea since went 3 at the back

Don't forget they murdered us at  BP in mid field so he had to do something after all the press bravado I would like to see Marcus the pragmatist, feel a bit for those who have made the trip though if we are setting up to take a point

Change needed now,

Don't care if it's only first half, the team was picked with clearly the intention of keeping it tight, that has now changed, we are now chasing the game, we need some creativity now to try and get something out of the game.

If fully fit, then a chance for Yussuf to come off the bench and support Bogle - let's see if that will spark something good!

I agree with Ollie, maybe introduce Vose also in around 55 mins if we need, despite creating chances, changes are needed now to give us pace and creativity

Sounds like an unlucky ricochet did for us that half but even when we are holding our own, i don't get the sense that we are threatening at all. We all know we need more creativity and it sounds like we are fine until the final third again. Decisive crosses and passes are in short supply. Time for the new lad and to play some balls that give the strikers a chance to do something with it.

Looked alright until they won a flick on in midfield which the defence was too slow to react to and allowed their man in behind to slot past Henderson. They should have had a second moments later after a man was left unmarked at the back post but Henderson did well to tip his header over. Vernon has been utterly useless and needs yanking at half time. A total waste of space offering nothing. Massive flat pitch here looks perfect for Vose to dribble around on, or give Yussuf a go - no way be could be any worse than Vernon.

Sounds like we have done o.k. apart from when it matters in the final 3rd where the commentary suggests the front players are having trouble controlling it and with decision making. All being well we will see Yesseff & Vose sooner than later.

Not gonna bring him on for henderson are we. I like vose but would rather us bring on someone woth pace to run at the carlisle back 4. Something we dont have with the 11 on the field atm

Sounds like the performances over the last three games have improved, but we've been playing against progressively better teams too, so the scores haven't shown that (yet).

MB won't get any criticism by putting Yussuff on to partner Bogle.  I think it seems like Vernon has been working hard again, but perhaps just isn't the right fit for the way we want to play.  Not convinced he'll be on the staff come the end of the month.

No but we could bring Vose on for Boyce and go to a back four instead of five.. And replace Vernon with some pace.. Hard to say when not watching the game.

Hagrid you cocky girl private, we could have sacrificed somebody else for him? Like Boyce and put Davies in the back and revert back to a flat back 4?

There are 10 outfield players to bring him on for... I'm just saying I would bring him on for one of the midfield 3 and keep the wing backs

I've stated my opinion, I'm entitled to it aren't I

2 million now and rising 😄😄

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Superb result.  First team to win at Carlisle this season.

We've got a great squad and a good up and coming manager who wants to play the game the right way.  Lots to be positive about.

Also this side is too good to go down, Omar scores too many goals and look far too solid defensively to be relegated.

I have to say, I looked at the team sheet and it looked like an attempt to get a 0-0. Would we have scored 3 in the second half under Hursty? Who knows?

While Bogle's price will have risen again, there's also a chance he could be feeling even better about his situation at Town and could see this season out as we rise. Bogle and Yussuf appear to be Biggie's dream strike force from what he says, maybe this signing is partly about bringing more out of Bogle, MB knows him better than anyone and seems to be in tune with him at a mental level, always an important thing with some players.
Two Bogle goals and a debut goal from Adi is some strike force, MB must be grinning from ear to ear tonight.

Has to be said that we also got a bit of luck when needed today. Could easily have been 2-2 before we got the third but it still wouldn't have detracted from the performance, which is the encouraging thing. We are progressing well and the new lad looks to have added something already and has done what Tuton and Vernon haven't managed all season.

Our last six games, lost three and now unbeaten in three.
And, not good reading for Macca, but since Henderson has been in the side we've not lost and only conceded one goal.
Onwards and upwards.

From what we heard today hopefully the big difference with this lad is he has size, pace & power all much needed if in addition he can add a few goals we may also get some improved home performances. & results
A great festive period results wise and its great to get this gap opening up from the bottom two, the thought of ever going back to the conference is cold sweat material.

Lets hope for another 3 points up at the Pool this Saturday

That must be THE RESULT of the day, I would think! After winning at Plymouth and now Carlisle, perhaps, just perhaps, we are good enough to reach the play-offs after all. Obviously Mickey Moore and Marcus know much more about Adi's potential than any of us and we may yet see this lad (together with Danny Collins?) as this season's inspirational signing. It makes me wonder, however, what other inspirational signings the management team may yet have 'up their sleeve' this month Only time will tell of course, but this is certainly an evening for celebration! Congratulations to all involved, and not least the 400+ passionate, faithful Town fans who must spend a small fortune supporting the team on the road.

Osborne in midfield maybe? Scored again yesterday for Solihull.

Yes ginnywings. Was there any reason to be excited by a player who has had 2 clubs in this league very recently who he did nothing for and wanted rid of him. Never having done well in this league in his whole career? FACTS

Give me a logical reason to expect something that has never worked before and has failed the only two times it has happened? Whether he comes good or not to be excited at the time of signing is pure delusion

Opinions not facts. You have no idea how he did at his other clubs and have just gone on his scoring stats. He may well turn out to be disappointing but to write him off before a ball has been kicked because of what you think he has or hasn't done in the past is just silly. Of course you are fully entitled to an opinion but this is a public forum, so others may well disagree and voice their disagreement.

Fact that two clubs recently let him go. Fact that he has never scored consistently at this level despite being primarily a striker.

I've not written him off, he may well (hopefully) be good for us. But history shows that he's not really done it before. We can't predict correctly predict the future all the time but the best idea we have is going off past events. At the time of signing he's never done well enough for the clubs who have him to try and keep him.

Apologies if I've came across a bit of a d1ck while giving my view.

Also dont forget that he was apparently not being played in his proper position at Crawley. Maybe the fact that he has had a good first game/ 30 mins or so will help the board have faith in MB making the right decisions about who he needs and allow him to do so.

I don't think the board will stop him but the bank manager might!

Hardly in the same class. Podge scored a similar number of goals in one season as the Shop did in  2 1/2 years.

This.

Apparently he was called back early from his loan spell and Crawley were not happy about it, but I assume we were paying a fee and they are skint so Mansfield called him back so the deal with us could be completed. Didn't he score 2 in 10 while out wide which is not his preferred position but is still a decent return for a wide man?

And as for being rejected by Mansfield, well anybody who is going to be managed by Steve Evans is going to either love it or hate it. Reading books of former players most people hated it, although he motivated some. I suspect our new signing needs an arm round the shoulder and MB knows this and thinks he will get the most out of him. Steve Evans is a lot of things but he is not an arm round the shoulder type of guy.

Of course we are all entitled to our own opinions. Personally I like to consider all the circumstances before I air mine.
