Pleased we're moving away from Macron, sizing was idiotic.


Be very interested to see if the contract with Myenergi is up, I know it was a 3 year deal but with their financials atm, cant see them wanting to continue it.

Have we ever had an Umbro kit? Canā€™t recall one. Theyā€™re still owned by Nike though arenā€™t they?

Unlikely it will be an off the peg template like that. Umbro had some really nice kits throughout the Prem, and EFL (plus Boston) last season, and are probably second only to Hummel in their retro design chops.

It has to be an improvement on Macron. I only bought last yearā€™s of the three weā€™ve had with them, and the fabric was like cheap Aldi bog roll (no offence intended to the fishyā€™s very own ā€œAldiā€, who appears to be MIA).

Anyone else noticed the red piping next to the black stripes on all the official club media for the last couple of weeks? Itā€™s on the season tickets as well so Iā€™m expecting that to be the new stripes.

Iā€™d expect that the new shirt sponsor/s* could be named with the release of the new shirt. I say sponsors, as quite a few  clubs have gone down the route of shirt sleeve sponsors. Admittedly itā€™s not as lucrative as in the top leagues but with the new ā€˜sky dealā€™ thereā€™s scope for more airtime than previously

They also mentioned share capital so some of the new investors will be taking part ownership. Should be very interesting to see who that is. Association with the club was mentioned so probably somebody local.

Hopefully someone local so its abit of meaning to it with a story behind it etc and PLEASE not a betting company like a lot of them !!!

I said it would all go wrong when we introduced green into the last kit perhaps you believe me now. I hope the same mistake is not repeated . Though the problem may continue anyway while we have a player called Green on the books.

Macron sizing was nuts. Iā€™m a XXL in most brands and Iā€™m 6ā€3 and a healthy-ish šŸ¤£  Rugby prop size fella if honest, I was 4XL in Macron and even that was tight. Bought a 5XL shirt in the sale and itā€™s like a nighty. Canā€™t win.

I just hope itā€™s a decent well made brand and not like that cheap Oxen rubbish that Lincoln have and that Kelme stuff Scunny now wear.

I know what you mean though, in the early 90s they had the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs and Everton on their books, plus England of course, and theyā€™ve had a bit of a hiatus since, but still a brand with great pedigree and some cracking modern day kits. The quality certainly canā€™t be any worse than Macron.

Shows you how much Iā€™ve paid attention ha, but yeah exactly that. They seemed to lose all the big contracts.

This is Bournemouthā€™s new Umbro shirt. Very nice. Iā€™m with jimgtfc in that I think the clubā€™s social media template is a nod to the new shirt with the red accent pinstripes; hopefully something like our 91 or 92 kit which would be cracking, especially with a yellow and red away kit.

This wasnā€™t my original observation, but the clubā€™s social media livery suggests the usual black and white stripes with red accent pinstripes. If your earlier assertion that it will be ā€œretroā€ is correct, then that would point to something like our home kits between ā€˜91 and ā€˜93:




Given JSā€™ publicly stated dislike for social media derision, Iā€™d be surprised if the club had the balls to go for something akin to our 94/95 effort. Certainly a kit that sticks in the memory, but one a remake of which would certainly be divisive:

Would be delighted with anything like those two 90s kits, I've always thought that white should be the predominant colour.

Year ahead on the Admiral kit there Poojah, was for the 93/94 season and pretty sure it was largely hated at the time owing to the movement away from the thicker stripes.  If social media was a thing back in 1993 there would have been uproar.  Weirdly always seems to do a good trade on eBay.

Deal with Admiral didn't even last a year, new deal with Diadora was unveiled with the new kit on display in the final home game (Champions elect Forest I think), I can remember Diadora having an advertising board behind and to the side of the goals, where you tend to get the ones that are painted on now.  Seemed incredibly modern and fancy at the time. My mind was blown when the players were warming up in the Diadora training tops.   Funny the things you remember, yet I can't even remember what I had for breakfast today.

The 94/95 one is utterly ridiculous, not in terms of design but fit. I've got it (admittedly in probably one size too small) and the body is really really tight to the point that I never wear it but the sleeves...you could camp under those things.

In my humble opinion, the 1st kit shown there is ok, the 2nd one is awful, and the 3rd is, was, and always will be, an abomination.

Same here. Wore it as a mascot against Andy Tillsonā€™s Bristol Rovers in 1993. One of the best days of my life, that.

Those kits were made significantly better by the players who wore them.


Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!
