Danish striker David Nielson today signed for the Mariners in a 3 month loan deal. Subject to the formalities of his registration being completed in time, Nielson will be available to start in the home game against Huddersfield at Blundell Park on Saturday.

Nielson, who comes on loan from Danish side FC Copenhagen, has been tracked by Town boss Lennie Lawrence for several weeks, culminating in the Dane's signature today. The move completes a lifetime ambition for the flamboyant 23-year-old striker, who has always wanted to play in the English game. Nielson, who speaks near-perfect English, hopes to make the move from Denmark to England permanent, preferably with the Mariners.
