Terry Rudrum, the Ground Safety Officer at Blundell Park, has issued a statement confirming that the police are investigating an incident involving a steward and two children at Saturday's game with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.

Mr Rudrum, in the statement published on Mariners net says: "The incidents are being investigated by the Forest safety officer and one particular incident is the subject of a police investigation. ". The club's safety officer promises to make sure that the incident is resolved satisfactorily, saying: "It is therefore difficult to comment further, except to say that I will follow this through with my counterpart at Forest."

The incident, which was reported by The Fishy at the weekend, happened after Forest had equalised at the start of the half, and resulted in about 15 minutes of disturbances in the away end at the City ground.

The family involved in the incident were John Guyett from Grimsby, and his sons David (15) and Paul (12).
