The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Lawrence - "Not Safe Yet"

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 26/03/2001

GRIMSBY manager Lennie Lawrence has cautioned his players not to become complacent despite the fact they have lost only once in 5 games. With the Fulham, Blackburn, Watford, West Brom, Sheffield United and Birmingham games to come the road ahead could prove to be rocky.

Lawrence said that the Mariners are still not clear of the relegation zone adding "I told the players before the game against Birmingham that win, lose or draw we could finish in the middle of the table or we could still be relegated."

Good news however is that Steve Livingstone returned to training today after a months absence and could be involved in the Norwich game next Saturday.

Daryl Clare, Wayne Burnett, Zhang Enhua and John McDermott are all recovering from knocks and are not expected to train until later this week in the hope that they will be fit to play at Carrow Road.
