STRIKER Jonathan Rowan today signed a 2 year contract extension with the Mariners, tying him to Blundell Park until the end of the 2003-2004 season. The Grimsby-born front player, who was Young Player of the Year last season, has been a first choice striker this campaign, scoring four goals to date.
"I am a local lad, and it is nice to be staying for a couple more years. It is a bit of security and I have got a starting block now - all I have to worry about is playing well and doing well for Grimsby Town." Rowan told Mariners Net:
"...It is only my first full season..."
"I have got four goals so far this season which is pleasing, hopefully I'll be trying to get a few more. It is only my first full season so I'll just try and score as many as possible." added the 19-year-old.
