Reserve Game Fiasco

I AM very disappointed to inform you that I will be unable to provide a report on today's reserve game. This is mainly due to the fact that I knew nothing about it!! I suspect not many others did either, I would be surprised if there was anybody there at all.

Maybe this was what they wanted to happen. I first learnt about it when the evening paper plopped through the letterbox and was not amused I can tell you. It was quite ironic, because when it arrived there was a representative of GTFC in my house. I am a collector of the club's lottery, and she was paying her weekly visit to pick up the money. She left with the knowledge that I wasn't very happy about the lack of info coming from BP.

One story I have learnt sums up the way this club is run and it doesn't surprise me one bit. When Town reserves play at home, the match officials are supposed to pick up their expenses from the lottery office. At a recent home game, the referee went to the lottery office to get his money to be greeted with a blank look. I didn't even know we were playing was the reply.

This just about sums up how poorly this club is run when they cannot get something as simple as this sorted out. Do the office staff talk to one another? Or is just a case of you do your job and I'll do mine? It's hardly surprising we had the farcical situation of having no alcohol licence. I would respectfully suggest that it is not just the playing staff that should get their fingers out. Everyone involved with the club needs to ask 'is everybody doing their job properly?' because somebody certainly isn't!

Once again I apologise for the non existent report hopefully somebody at the club will start doing their job properly and Town fans will get to know more about what happens down at BP. I thought we had a 'press officer', but maybe this just means he does the ironing!!!!

Ed - Fortunately for readers The Fishy's Paul Holmes knew about the match and was able to make his way to Blundell Park where he compiled this report
