My Black and White Hero: Clive Mendonca

THE BEST MAN to ever pull on the Black and White stripes for Town has to be Clive Mendonca. No ifs or buts, during his time at Blundell Park he was nothing short of sensational - every time he got the ball I use to buzz with excitement.

Super Clive His paring up front with Neil Woods was stuff of legends and the support he had in midfield from Childs and Groves saw him shine.

My best Mendonca memory comes from the 95/96 season. Clive had been out most of the season with injury and made his home debut that season against Ipswich Town at around Easter time that year. He started the match and played brilliantly, we totally out did the tractor boys and kept them out of the game completely.

To top it off Mendonca dazzled the defence and scored a hattrick agsinst a very young Richard Wright. What a comeback? A hattrick at home. Needless to say I walked away very happy that day.
