Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Wayne Burnett May Be Back For Saturday!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 05/11/2001

WAYNE Burnett will be having a full week of training this week and hopes to be in the side to meet Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Wayne has been out of the game for over a month with a groin injury but has done some light training recently and is looking forward to getting back into the team.

Now that he is back on the training ground he will be spending this week stepping up his training to ensure that he is fit for selection again.

This will be welcome news for Mariners boss Lennie Lawrence who is bemoaning his lot with a number of key players injured.

There is still no news on fans favourite Steve Livingstone who has been sorely missed by the Mariners since suffering a calf injury and related complications with the blood supply to the injured calf.

Players in the treatment room this week include: Paul Groves, Steve Croudson, John McDermott, Alan Nielson, Steve Livingstone, Broomes, Coldicott, Wayne Burnett, David Smith, Michael Jeffrey, Rowan and Jevons.
