Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Robert Taylor Battling To Be Fit For Saturday

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 30/01/2002

LOAN striker Robert Taylor could be in doubt for Saturday's game against Bradford City at Blundell Park. Suffering a foot injury in last night's game he said. "It's killing me now, but I had to stay on to help out with the defending."

"For any set pieces I just limped back and put my head on it. The top of my foot has really ballooned."

But he was obviously delighted with his first game for Town telling the Grimsby Telegraph: "I'd forgotten what it feels like to score."

"It's nice to score. After so long out through injury one of the things you ask yourself is 'can I ever score goals again?' I don't know what the feeling was like it's been that long. It's a good feeling to hear the fans cheering. I don't usually score scrappy goals, but I'm glad I did here."

"It would be nice to score again on Saturday in front of the home fans. They came to Rotherham to give us good support and even when we were under the cosh they were still singing. It was good to hear and kept us going."

"I've played away twice and a home game will be good for us. We have to grind results out away from home, but if we work hard like we did here then one point can become four."

"To win on Saturday we'll have to dig deep again but the fans will be behind us hopefully. The lads are young and they thrive on confidence. Once that gets going they'll play some good football."

"The fans have a huge part to play in that."
