Livvo Blow For Town!!

DESPITE reports yesterday that Grimsby Town striker Steve Livingstone could resume training, it has now been announced that Livvo could be ruled out for the rest of the season after specialists ordered him to rest up for a fortnight.

The Grimsby Telegraph now reports that Livvo had fluid drained from his knee following last week's surgery to remove a blood clot and his specialist has warned that the swelling could take up to a month to settle down.

This news means that his return to football in March has now been ruled out and that would leave him in a race against time to be fit for the beginning of April at the very earliest.

With the season finishing early because of the World Cup, it seems likely now that Livvo will not play a part in the Mariners' current battle to avoid relegation.

This news must also throw doubt on the rest of his career as he has spent almost a full season without playing a game and with Town's financial woes, he could be an early target for release.
