Question of the Week

Who will go down?

Paul Groves Says he has Six Strikers!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 12/04/2002

Paul Groves said today that all his front men are fit and he has six strikers fighting for two starting places with Mick Boulding and Bradley Allen both recovered from injuries which kept them out of the game against Norwich.

Boulding and Steve Livingstone look favourites to start as Groves told the Grimsby Telegraph: "With Michael's goal record it's going to be very difficult to leave him out. With Michael's pace he is always a threat and because of how he's played it's hard not to include him."

"With Michael's pace he is always a threat and because of how he's played it's hard not to include him. There is a good mixture of players and we can approach it in different ways. But last week against Norwich showed the value of having somebody with a presence up front. It allowed us to go a bit more direct and the goal came from having Livvo's presence up there."

"It's nice to go into such a big game having plenty of choices up front."

Terry Cooke is expected to start with Gallimore sidelined due to suspension.

"If results go for us three points would be enough and that's what we have to go for" said Groves.

Grimsby Town: Coyne, McDermott, Todd, Groves, Chapman, Ford, Cooke, Butterfield, Cooke, Coldicott, Pouton, Livingstone, Boulding, Allen, Robinson, Jevons, Falconer, Burnett, Croudson.
