Jamie's Waite is Over

YOUNG Jamie Waite the Thailand international goalkeeper, who became the second youngest player in history to play for his country, had a trial in an under-19 game at Grimsby in April.

He has been told by the club in recent days, despite impressing staff here, that he will not be offered a contract due to the club's financial constraints.

If finances had not been as such, he was told they would have offered young Waite a three year contract. It is a shame that our club cannot help the young lad achieve his aspirations and I wish him all the best in his attempts to be fixed up as will all Mariners supporters.

Young Jamie Waite played a match at Grimsby on the 20th April for the under 19's. He was told a few days ago that they would have loved to sign him on a three year YTS contract but due to finances Town are unable to do so.

Jamie impressed during his match and is now looking for another club. He plays for Thailand as goalkeeper for the under 21's and shall be representing them this July. Well done Jamie, just keep going.
