AFTER the announcement by Peter Furneaux of the situation Grimsby are in whom is to blame?

The players are on good wages and questions have been raised as to whether we are getting value for money. Also are the directors in fault for the way they are running the club?

After all relying heavily on one of the sources of income being 55% could be considered dangerous especially being a volatile income source. However we must consider developments within the club during the last three years and a major factor is that the club has been embroiled in a major battle. Yes errors have been made over over-stretching their budget.

But a major bearing is that Town have just finished there 2001-2 campaign. What is significant about last season is that if it were not for the Council and the Great Coates residents 2001-2002 should have been a glorious first year in our new stadium. What we see is that because the Council have failed to back the club's drive for a new stadium by removing the red tape obstacles it may have resulted in killing and destroying our beloved football team.

God knows how much gate/revenue could have been generated last season if the initial plans in Aug 1999 had had better backing from the Council. I just hope that the Council and Great Coates residents can sleep after selling the club down the river with petty excuses why the stadium should not be built at the Great Coates site.
