Who will win League 2?

Good News! Bad News!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 02/07/2002

Grimsby Town announced good news and bad news today. The good news is that the season ticket discount period has been extended by a further 2 weeks with a new deadline being set for 3.00pm on Saturday 13th July 2002.

This extension gives Town fans a further fortnight to take advantage of the excellent four match discount available to season ticket holders. But the bad news was a warning from chairman Peter Furneaux that ticket prices might have to rise by a further £1 if a speedy conclusion to the ITV Digital court case is not forthcoming.

Peter Furneaux said, "We hope Mariners fans will take advantage of this extended period. Our season tickets are by far the best value in the First Division and supporters were treated to some excellent displays by Paul Groves' team last season."

"Should the ITV fiasco drag on, it may result in admission price rises for supporters at the turnstiles. This would obviously be a regrettable decision, and one which we shall only take if absolutely necessary. It does, however, highlight even more the value of a season ticket at Blundell Park."

Season ticket prices for the 2002-2003 campaign which are being held for another two weeks are:

Adults Upper Smith's Stand: £304
Main Stand: £285 (*Child free scheme in Main Stand. One free junior season ticket with every adult season ticket purchased.)
Pontoon: £247
Lower Smith's Stand: £247
Juniors (all areas): £60
O.A.Ps (all areas): £171
Students (Pontoon only): £171
