Well known for setting up the winning goal in the 1979 European Cup, GB was recruited by Alan Buckley to play up front and went on to score a hattrick against Wrexham in the last game of that promotion winning season. Gary Birtles now hosts a phone-in on a Nottingham radio station (century FM I think).
