Town Sign Striker On Loan!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 09/08/2002

THE club have revealed that Wimbledon's Paul Robinson, who was on loan at Blundell Park last season, is expected to sign today after agreeing terms for a three month loan.

Training with Wimbledon during the morning and travelling up to Norwich to join the Town squad in time for tomorrow's game at Carrow Road.

Robinson played in the last five games of Town's season. He will have the squad number 20. Wimbledon will not allow him to be in Town's squad against them.

Paul Groves told Mariners Net "He's different to what we have got. He's still young, and hungry for the game, and he wants to prove himself. He left Newcastle for over £1m so he is a quality player."

"He works his socks off, his fitness level is tremendous. He's a nuisance for defenders, he chases and harries and catches people off guard. I watched a video of our game at Norwich last season when Paul started the game up front, and I saw enough to want him back."
