The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

I am Ready - Pouton!

ALAN Pouton whom the Grimsby Telegraph calls the Grimsby Town's "dog of war" is looking forward to the start of the new season saying it will be a loft different this season to last.

"It's the first game of the season and it's going to be a lot different to when we played them (Norwich) in April." Pouton told the Telegraph. "We had a good performance when we drew 1-1 there last season and maybe we deserved all three points."

"Now we've got to carry off where we finished last season with a string of good results. It would be nice to start off with a win. Despite what's happened this summer with the size of the squad and things, we're paid to get on with it."

"It does affect you a little bit but now there are some new players in and hopefully we can get a good start to the season."

"I want to play as many games as possible and 110 per cent in every game. It will be a long, hard battle with what's happened with ITV Digital. But if we can stay up again it will be a massive achievement by everyone at the club - I want to be a part of that."

"I'd like to score a few more goals. I got five last year and three or four of them were penalties. If I'm playing I want to get forward and score from open play. Realistically a midfielder has got to be looking to get into double figures. I've never done that before but maybe I'll finally do it this season provided I stay injury free."

"I had an unfortunate injury last year when I broke my ankle just before Christmas. That put me back and when I came back I was chasing match fitness. Then, when I got some good form back towards the beginning of March, before you know it the season's over."
