Livvo Staying In Hospital

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 18/08/2002

GRIMSBY striker Steve Livingstone is to spend a second night in hospital for observations after being carried unconscious from the Derby game yesterday following a sickening clash of heads.

An earlier brain scan conducted by the hospital revealed no serious problems, however, and the former Chelsea striker is expected to make a full recovery given time.

A hospital spokesman said: "He is fine now and very comfortable. He is sitting up in bed and talking. He will stay in for a further night so that we can keep him under observation."

Livingstone was knocked unconscious in a clash of heads with Rams' defender Danny Higginbotham, and needed treatment on the pitch for 15 minutes by the emergency services, before being rushed to Grimsby hospital in an ambulance.

The Fishy wishes Livvo a speedy recovery!
