Bob Taylor To Return To BP!!

Date: 21/08/2002

TOWN boss Paul Groves is hoping to sign striker Robert Taylor on a 4-month contract to replace Steve Livingsone who will be out for some weeks.

With Steve Livingstone out for at least two months, Groves acted fast in bringing in another big target man.

Taylor is not an unknown to Paul Groves and his team, having spent a month last season on-loan. Despite a good start to the loan with a goal away at Rotherham, the moved turned sour as Taylor was sent-off against Bradford and then limped off injured away to Watford.

Taylor has always stated that he would like to return to the club and returned on a non-contract basis on deadline day after Wolves released him. Any deal seemed to have fizzled out as the lack of TV money bit Groves' budget.

Hope was restored for Taylor though when he played in the reserve friendly against Frickly.

If Taylor does sign then it is expected he will go straight into the team for the game at Bradford on Saturday, the very place where he spent most of pre-season trying to keep fit and earn a contract.
