Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Boulding Back At BP For Xmas?

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 05/12/2002

MICK Boulding wants to return to Blundell Park around Christmas time. Presently sidelined with an ankle injury he has to see a specialist tomorrow. "If I was fit I'd be there now," he told the Grimsby Telegraph.

"I have to see a specialist tomorrow but I'm desperate to get playing again. I'm obviously interested in going back to Grimsby because I enjoyed my time there. But I've got to make sure that my injury has completely healed before I do anything. I've done some running but I haven't joined in with training yet."

Groves is now desperate to bring in a striker with Darren Mansaram is out for Saturday with Jon Rowan, YT striker David Soames and Chris Thompson in reserve.

John Oster played as an emergency striker against Leicester City last week and will be asked to do the same again on Saturday.

"We're still looking for a striker but nothing has happened yet," said Groves. "Darren hasn't made any progress and he doesn't look like he'll make the weekend. We still can't put our finger on how long he will be out, but we think it will be at least another week."

"He hasn't had too many injuries in his career and he's experiencing something new. It's very difficult to put a time frame on it at the moment."

Groves is also unlikely to paly bringing Simon Ford back in after his suspension.

Other News: Former Grimsby Town centre-back Andy Tillson has been forced to quit the game because of a persistent back injury.

Tillson (36) has has not played this season and has agreed to terminate his contract at Rushden and Diamonds.
