Pouton Back In First Team!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 12/12/2003

THE bad news is that Marcel Cas is out of the game on Saturday but the good news is that Pouton will be in the squad after a long injury induced lay-off. He will probably start on the bench but will be expected to play some part in the game.

"Pouts is on the bus with us today and we'll go from there." Groves told the Grimsby Telegraph. "We've said about the importance of having someone like Pouts around the squad. He plays in an important position for us and he's an impact player - anyone would miss someone like him."

"Alan has made decent progress and has got good time under his belt. He's getting closer and closer. He has had eight weeks out where he couldn't do a great deal. He's getting to the stage now where he's done his pre-season work and he's getting in and around it."

"We'll need another midfielder on the bench and need to add to the squad."

But Onuora seems favourite to get the nod over Phil Jevons. "We're looking to play some football. If we do that, get it down, then we cause people problems and control games. We need to do a bit better when it becomes a bit more 'up and at 'em, crash bang wallop type of game. We need to dictate the pace with our football and passing then we will create chances."

"The key thing is that we play ourselves. We invariably control the game when we pass the ball and then it's a case of whether we take our opportunities.
