Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

You Have Your Say

WE present here a selection of views submitted by the readers of the Fishy following the recent run of poor results, and the departure of two first team regulars, with perhaps more to folllow.

With all the debate about whether Groves goes or stays I would like to ask everyone to remember that, of all the players who have played for Grimsby, few if any have made the contribution or sweated the blood that Groves has for us. He has been a hero and deserves loyalty and support from all of us.

That does not mean that he may not be the man for this job but it does mean that none of the articles should be critical of him personally and it does mean he deserves our gratitude and applause whatever happens.

Football fans often complain about lack of loyalty. They also have to demonstrate it at times. Town fans who read the Fishy and who support Town especially in difficult days like these are loyal to the club but we have to be loyal to special individuals like Groves.

Lee Freeman

Pete Atkinson hits the nail right on the head, PG's job is to get the best from the players. It is fairly evident that not only has he failed to do this, some players are openly hostile to him.

Like all Town fans, Grovesy will always be remembered as a great player, but we can't afford to allow him to learn his trade here. Forget blaming the board, Grovesy and anyone else, only a few football teams can ever be successful at any 1 time. Instead, lets encourage the club to be decisive, change the management and see if someone else can shape this bunch of misfiring could-be's into a half decent side.

Carl Hullett

Just been on Barnsley official web site and their managers crowing that he will sign Boulding in a couple of days. He said he is talking to Groves and Furneaux to tie things up. The thing I dislike about the club and in particular Furneaux is the are blatantly lying about a number of issues within the club and they think us fans are simple.
