Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Monday News Round-Up

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 05/04/2004

STRIKER Mickael Antoine-Curier has had X-rays on his heavily bruised face sustained in Saturday's win over Sheffield Wednesday, but they have revealed no fractures. The former Notts County striker, who spent the night in hospital, has two black eyes but should be fit in time for the weekend.

The other injuries at the club are:

  • Greg Young, who has a dislocated shoulder and may need an operation.
  • Darren Mansaram, who has a groin strain, but he is due to miss the next two games against QPR and Blackpool after being suspended following his sending off against Chesterfield.
  • John McDermott, who looks likely to need an operation to overcome a longstanding hernia problem.
  • Isaiah Rankin, who has ankle and hamstring problems, but is still managing to play.
  • Paul Warhurst, who has a calf injury.

Following their win against Sheffield Wednesday, Town will be up against automatic promotion challengers Queens Park Rangers and will need to be at their very best to take anything from the game. The West London club, who Town knocked out of the FA Cup earlier this season, narrowly defeated Town in the League game at Blundell Park last year.
