Steve Chettle

Steve Chettle arrived at Grimsby Town for the 2002/2003 campaign after leaving Barnsley on a free transfer. Chettle linked up with The Mariners that summer and boasted a whole career full of experience, notably making around 500 apperances for Nottingham Forest in between 1986 and 1999.

Chettle only made 22 apperances for Grimsby, as an on-going injury hampered his progress with The Mariners. Despite finding it hard at times, Steve gave it his all in his last year in the professional game, earning a lot of respect from the Town faithful.

After relegation from Division One, Chettle was not offered a new contract and he moved onto Burton Albion to play Conference football.

Next Player: Paul Warhurst
