The Sky's The Limit

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 30/08/2005

GRIMSBY'S Carling Cup game with Tottenham at Blundell Park has been selected by Sky TV as their televised 2nd Round fixture.

Town's reward for beating Derby County will be a cash boost in the region of around £50K, from the satellite broadcaster, as well as half the gate receipts on the night when a bumper crowd is expected.

The match will take place on Tuesday 20th September, with a 19:45 kick-off.

The Mariners have not been on television since their final Division One game in May 2003, a 2-2 draw at home to fellow relegation victims Brighton.

September promisises to be a busy month for the Mariners with six league games in addition to the Tottenham encounter to put Russell Slade's squad through their paces.
