Injury Crisis at Blundell Park

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 03/05/2006

WITH Town preparing for a promotion fight against Northampton on Saturday, Russel Slade is having difficulties finding enough fit players to pick from.

The treatment room is almost full of players with assorted injuries all requiring treatment with Michael Reddy and Gary Jones being very doubtful for the game.

The official site reports that the only position not affected by injury is a right sided midfielder. The injury lists reads like a novel.

John Lukic (shoulder), John McDermott (hamstring), Tom Newey (ankle ligaments), Rob Jones (groin), Miles Chamberlain (thigh strain), Gary Croft (sore knee), Paul Bolland (dead leg), Paul Ashton (ankle), Gary Jones (suspected broken foot), Michael Reddy (groin).

It is a tragedy to have so many injuries before the vital match on Saturday but the physio's will be working overtime to supply some fit or almost fit players for the day.
