You're at Walsall now. Firstly how's that going and how does it compare to Grimsby?
It's been going very well until the start of this season when unfortunately I broke my leg, ruling me out until the start of next season. The difference between my time at Grimsby and here is that before the injury I was playing regularly!
You weren't really given a chance at Grimsby despite showing great potential and then went on to be a key player at Walsall. Why do you feel it worked out like this?
I was never given the chance to shine at Grimsby. I always seemed to be pushed to one side no matter how well I played in the reserves. The manager at the time had his favourites and that is what happens sometimes.
How long do you have left on your contract and would you ever want to return to Grimsby?
I have another two and-a-half years left here, which will lead, hopefully, to my testimonial in my final year. Grimsby is my second club, I always look out for their results and maybe in the future I may return.
On the whole who would you say has had the biggest influence on your career and why?
My dad (and mum to some extent), as I always went to watch him play when I was younger and getting into the game. My parents have given me plenty of encouragement to get me to where I am today.
Could you give us a insight on what things were like at Grimsby when you were there and how they have affected your career?
My time at Grimsby wasn't the greatest to be fair, although there were some aspects that I enjoyed. I think in the long run it enabled me to toughen up as a player and a person and take every opportunity that is presented to me. It had a positive effect as I always knew I had the talent; I just needed someone to put the confidence in me.
What so far in your career would you say has been your greatest moment?
Without doubt it was winning promotion in my first season at Walsall after we were written off all the way through the season. I was also linked with moves to clubs like Fulham and Manchester City which was a thrill.
Who would you say your best mates were at Town and do you still keep in touch with any of them?
There were plenty of characters at the club when I was there like 'big un' Jobbers and Peter Handyside. I only really keep in touch with Matthew Bloomer and see Mark Lever now and then.
Do you still look out for Town's results and what did you think of the Mariners’ games against Spurs and Newcastle?
I always look out for the results and with my injury this season it has given me some weekends off so I have seen town in action four or five times. They played very well in the games against Spurs and Newcastle and deserved the success against Spurs.
And finally do you have a message for the Town fans?
Good luck for the rest of the season and hopefully Walsall and Grimsby will be playing each other in League One next year [ed - Walsall were relegated after this interview]. See you next season! Up the Mariners.....
We'd also like to take this chance to thank Darren Wrack who took time out from his busy schedule to do this interview for Town fans
