GRAHAM Rodger has offloaded three fringe players from his squad whilst he continues to try and bring new faces in. There are currently just 20 players at the club, six of whom are youngsters with no first team experience.

Defender Glen Downey, striker Jermaine Palmer and 'keeper John Lukic have all been released and are looking for new clubs.

Downey was the perennial substitute under Russell Slade but managed less than 90 minutes of football in two years. He will be remembered for his winning goal at Wrexham in December.

Palmer and Lukic both failed to feature for the first team, and the young 'keeper struggled with an injury.

Meanwhile former Stockport County midfielder Danny Boshell who has joined Grimsby for a trial at the RAF Boot Camp Town are currently undergoing pre-season training.
