IN reply to the Tony Hamilton article, I will concede that it was misleading that Paul Bolland was still not a Grimsby player but I stand wholeheartedly by the rest of my article.

After watching last nights match against Doncaster, I feel even stronger that town are ill equipped at this present moment in time to mount a serious challenge for promotion.

Now I fully understand that you cannot read too much into pre-season games but with just over two weeks to go I thought that their performance was shambolic to say the least.

I am not one of these people who subscribes to the theory that the first few games of the season are expendable while you are still trying to put your squad together.

Every point is vital. Hhow many teams just lost out on promotion because they thought there was plenty of games left to catch up?

Grimsby's approach is very amateurish right down to its pre-match warm up and its half time preparations, while the Doncaster players where given a good warm up at half time in preparation to come on. The Grimsby players were having a bit of a kick around.

Graham Rodger obviously needs some help and the sooner the better.
