Who Are Ya: Hartlepool

WITH the new season almost upon us, it's time to cast an eye upon the teams in League Two for 2006-2007. Richard Hubbert turns his attention to Hartlepool.

Key PlayerEifon Williams. A handy striker whose importance has risen due to the imminent departure of Adam Boyd to Luton Town. He only got 7 goals last term but was still Hartlepool's top scorer. The ex Torquay man has consistently netted at this level before and the Pools will hope he can deliver.
StrengthsMuch of the side that did so well to reach the League One Play Off Final in 2005 are still at Victoria Park. Goalkeeper Demitrios Konstantopolous together with defenders Michael Nelson and Ben Clark should provide a solid backbone, whilst the likes of Eifon Williams and Joel Porter should score goals.
WeaknessesAfter a few seasons in League One, how quickly can the Pools adapt to the rough and tumble of League Two? Furthermore, after an unsuccessful spell at MK Dons, how will Danny Wilson fare in his first stint as a manager in English football's bottom tier?
Prediction8th. The loss of Adam Boyd is a massive blow to Hartlepool. Yet they have still retained one or two useful players at this level and can be hopeful of a play-off challenge.

Next Team: Hereford
