IN a surprise announcement today Grimsby Town have released Peter Beagrie but have also moved to bring in a midfielder from Notts Forest.
On Beagrie the club statement reads; "After discussions between the player and the manager, the club have agreed to release Peter Beagrie from his contract to enable him to further his flourishing career in the media."
"In the short time Peter has been with the Mariners, he has been nothing less than a model professional on and off the pitch."
"Everybody at the club wish Peter well for the future."
Graham Rodger has moved quickly to bring another player and Mariners Net reports that Town have signed Nottingham Forest midfielder Kevin James on a three month loan deal.
The speedy midfielder, who is said to have an eye for goal, has been troubled with injuries at the City Ground.
He spent the second half of last season on loan with Walsall but despite making the most of the opportunity to play regular first team football, he was unable to prevent them dropping into League Two.
James arrived on a free transfer from Gillingham in the summer of 2004 and has since been loaned to Yeovil and Boston United.
