Graham Rodger Returns to Blundell Park

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 13/02/2007

GRIMSBY Town Football Club have announced the appointment of Graham Rodger to the position of Community Development Manager which he was previously involved in.

The club stated that they are pleased Graham has returned to a role in which he previously achieved tremendous results.

With Graham at the helm the club are confident that the club's much-heralded Football in the Community scheme can go onto even greater success in the future, as they aim to:

On the appointment Graham said; "First and foremost it is great to be back, though in a different role. Obviously it is something that I have done before and is something that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's nice to be back and helping Gary with the FITC scheme."

"It is important that the profile of the club is prominent in the local community, and it is also mindful to remember that the first contact that a lot of young people have with the football club is through the scheme."

"I think that it is vitally important that those first images of the club are very positive."

"Hopefully it will also be enjoyable for the young people."I think to see the enjoyment that the children had and their reaction of them seeing the Grimsby Town players was always enjoyable."

"First and foremost the children need to come and enjoy it. It is about participation for everybody, it is for all levels of ability and hopefully they will go away and look forward to the next time they come and see us."
