Buckley Signs Former Loanee

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 12/05/2007

ALAN Buckley has brought back former Bristol Rovers midfielder, James Hunt, who was on loan to us during the past season and signed him on a two year contract.

Hunt undoubtedly made Town tick when he was here, his clever passing helping to link up the midfield and the front players. The 30-year-old offers something which Town don't currently have in their squad, a ball-playing midfielder (as opposed to a tough-tacking box to box man like Bolland).

This is the second signing this week and Buckley has moved in early to get the players he wants but it is obvious now that he has been preparing for some time to achieve that.

He has moved in before players and managers depart on their holidays thereby avoiding the mad scramble for players we have witnessed in previous seasons.

This is not the last of Buckley's signings or loan players he might bring in and this would be a good time to remind him of a player called Martin Paterson.
