Paterson Loan Is Still Possible

TOWN boss Alan Buckley says that there is no rush to jump into the transfer market saying; "We will wait a little bit and see what the lists bring, we'll wait and see what develops."

He also said; "There are things I want to do but there are positions where I don't want to rush into anything."

I would hope that one of those positions he is not rushing into is that of Martin Paterson. Paterson has now been offered a new deal by his club, Stoke City. He is also aware that he may not be playing first team football and may go out on loan again.

If that is the case, Mr Buckley will be a front runner to sign him. Paterson has said he wouldn't mind coming back to Grimsby as he had enjoyed himself there.

Mr Buckley, on the other hand, has a very good relationship with the Stoke City management, who know his style and his success in developing players which, is what Stoke need to do with Paterson, seeing him as one for the future.

Buckley is aware of all that so Paterson may well return to Blundell Park in the near future.

Which should please everyone!
