Beat the Bookies: Week 7

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 25/09/2007

NOW that the Mariners have won a league game it can only be a matter of time before Beat the Bookies backs a winner! Both predictions were close last week, but not close enough!

Home > 2007-2008 Season > Beat the Bookies > Week 7

First of all this week there is the televised clash between our neighbours Hull City and Chelsea at the KC Stadium. It has to be said there has never been a better time to play the Blues, who are in disarray at the moment, and the 6/1 on offer for a home win is a must. The Tigers have been inconsistent this season, but have been strong at home in the main and will have the backing of a big crowd behind them, plus the added incentive to impress the watching world on Sky.

Back in the world of League Two Grimsby are narrow favourites to beat Hereford at home on Saturday. Town are 7/5 to win, with the Bulls, who have got off to an excellent start to the season, rated 8/5. The bookies sound to have got it about right and neither price is great value.

Notts County seem to draw every week and this week's match between the Magpies and Chesterfield looks like another cross to place on the coupon, with even the bookies unable to separate the two sides. You can get 9/4 for a draw or even 11/2 for County's favourite 1-1 scoreline.

Recommended Bets

  • 1. Hull to beat Chelsea (6/1, bet365).
  • 2. Notts County to draw with Chesterfield (9/4, bet365).
