Beat the Bookies: Week 33

LAST week's win for Morecambe at Shrewsbury ensured a winning spread bet, and a return to profit in that type of bet for the season. A very small fixed odds loss ensured that our fixed odds tips are still in profit for the fourth year running. The Monkey has yet to get a winner!

It's getting to that stage of the season where for at least half a dozen teams every game is vital, seemingly more important than the rest of the season put together. For other teams the season is effectively over, but a win bonus or two will give some summer spending money.
Grimsby v Aldershot. It's easy to make out that Aldershot are just going to make up the numbers, but it's unlikely to be that comfortable. There were moments in both the home wins over Lincoln and Gillingham when the match could have taken a turn for the opposition but it wasn't to be. But with the new players gelling and some of other players looking much better than before, the Mariners should still be able to pull off a win. Grimsby can be backed at 11/10. Selection: Grimsby
Bury v Bournemouth.Despite their positions at opposite ends of the league table it is Bournemouth who are the form side. Bury have drawn their last four games, although three of them were away and in the fourth they were down to 10 men for most of the game. However at 16/5 the Cherries have got to be the better value. Selection: Bournemouth
Chester v Bradford.Chester look to have got problems both and on and off the pitch, it just remains to be seen how much they knuckle down and overcome them. The will be even more outnumbered against Bradford then they were against us, and their only saving grace is that City have lost the last four (to predominantly top teams). Given Chester's recent form 11/10 for an away win looks a decent price. Selection: Bradford
Chesterfield v Port Vale. Chesterfield can still sneak in the play-offs and Port Vale may be looking for a few more points so they can contemplate going into administration this season (who knows?!). However one factor could be that Chesterfield only played on Wednesday whereas Value have had a week's rest. At 4/1 Vale have to be worth a punt. Selection: Port Vale
Rochdale v Exeter. Both sides and inconsistent to say the least, so expect the unexpected in this game. Dale were reputedly poor in midweek and have also not had much rest. Go for Exeter at 3/1. Selection: Exeter

- Spread Betting on the Mini Performance Index with IG Index (25 points for a win, 10 for a draw, 10 for a goal)
- The Monkey (betting on Town to win each game 3-1, i.e. the complete absence of any betting strategy).
