Stein Departs

BRIAN Stein has left the Mariners "by mutual consent". The Town assistant boss has been at Blundell Park for a year after linking up with former manager Mike Newell, who he has worked with at several clubs including Luton.
Stein was initially made chief scout, but in reality he was assistant manager in waiting until Stuart Watkiss's contract ended in the summer.
New boss Neil Woods had vowed to restructure the club, so the departure of Stein is just one step in this process.
A replacement has not yet been named, although former Bradford City youth team coach Chris Casper has been linked with the job.
Chris Casper was later confirmed as Town's new Assistant Manager.
Grim Rob Says Not many tears will be shed at Stein's departure. Let's hope whoever replaces his is more successful!
