GRIMSBY TOWN should complain to the Football League after today's game with Notts County was called off because of a "frozen pitch". With the temperature at 10am set to 5 degrees and a sunny day forecast there has to be more to that decision than meets the eye.

Steve, a county fan based in Nottinghgam, told the Nottingham Post: "Fozen pitch? Never in a milion years. More to this than meets the eye, there wont be a frozen garden left in Nottingham by 3pm. This has been called off on purpose, somthing going on."

Perhaps Notts County didn't fancy two games in three days, or they were hoping to have players come back from injuries. Or it may be due to their players not having been paid. For whatever reason, there is absolutely no reason why the club could not have made the effort to get the ground playable.

The Mariners should have this fixture declared void and claim three points.
