Lincolnshire Derby Fans Match

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 17/02/2010

THIS Saturday, before the main Lincolnshire Derby will see two sets of fans from Grimsby and Lincoln come together in the name of charity and play a special charity football match for the second year running.

Fans from the Fishy's forum and Lincoln's "Lincoln.vitalfootball.co.uk" will be joining forces for the third time in trying to promote a message of friendship while enjoying the sport we all love football and raising vital funds for a specially selected charity, Help for Heroes.

After the huge success of Bike to the bank and last years football matches, the sets of fans have come together again with the match taking place at Wintringham Oasis Academy (Postcode DN32 0AZ) who have kindly donated the pitch and facilities free for this special event, with an 11am kick off. The kits the fans shall be wearing have been donated for the game by each club who again have shown their support in the name of charity.

Fans from both sets of clubs are invited to come along and watch this match and to cheer on their respected team with Grimsby hoping to get a result after losing last years fans game 6-4 over the two legs. A second leg will take place at Sincil Bank at the end of the season with more details to be released when available.

A bucket collection will take place at the venue so please do feel free to bring your loose change to kindly donate to this worthy cause.
